1800cc manifold and 32/36 carb HELP!

Post by FabriziaSpider »

Hello all,

I've just recently purchased a 1800cc single plane intake manifold and a 32/36 weber carb. Everyone I've spoken to has told me this is exactly what the 2000cc spider was lacking, a good carburetor. I am really looking forward to the performance but I have absolutely no understanding of what I need to do first to get started on this project. I have not had time to tinker with her yet and I think I've been discouraging myself to do so because I am worried that I might ruin my little spider just when I've got her out from the garage. I really want to do this myself partly because I am a student and money is not something I can come by too quickly and I want to do the work myself. I love to work on my car and I've done a lot but I've had bad past experiences with this type of build on mustangs and camaros. I decided to start here, if someone could give me step by step instructions I'm pretty sure many other newbies will be able to benefit from these instructions!

I look forward to reading what all the veterans recommend!

Thanks a lot guys!

Well it's a fairly simple swap. Remove the old one. Install the new one. making sure you have cleaned the gasket surfaces and have new gaskets. There will be an extra port that you will need to fab up a small cover for that will be uncovered as a result of the swap. There are other threads on this very topic. Keep your carb covered with a rag to prevent dropping anything down the carb. Have fun!
