It appears I blew my cat yesterday
so should I look for the stock Cat? I was thinking of using a test pipe temporarily, but think I won't have enough
back pressure for proper accelleration.
I've got a spare used cat that I need to separate from the rusted flange bolts and could use that.
any thoughts?

No cat! Back pressure? That is just a myth. Less is always more.

If you live where a cat is not required, I would throw it as far as possible. No cat = better performance in every circumstance

It appears that the cat sepatated from the front end. I managed to weld it back on the street side and will get under the car at
my buddy's who has a lift at his house. I've thought of taking it out, but as I won't be driving it for the most part until the spring, there's no rush. It's emissions exempt now in NY, so the cat is not crucial to passing an inspection.
