Custom rear speaker bench and panels - roll bar

Post by dparnas »

Hi guys, just joined the forum and wanted to share a recent project. Having a roll bar, the rear seat had been out of my car for a long time, but had wanted to clean up that area and improve the stereo, so from examples of folks here and elsewhere on the net, came up with this, along with the side panels to wrap around the roll bar but still allow the top to fold down. What do you think?

Very Nice! Did you make the side panels and I notice you have other than stock seats. Any more pictures of the seats and where did you get them?

Yes, the side panels are just made from wood, then covered in vinyl. Nice thing about having the roll bar is that the panel just screws right into the roll bar for stability.

The seats are ProCar brand. I've had them for close to 20 years now, so really not sure where you would find them, but they are great and fit right onto the tracks of the oem seats without any modification, which is great. Here's a picture

Nice set-up! I like those seats to. You wouln't happen to have a pic showing your whole interior? I'd like to see how those seats look in the car.

Oh and here's a link to the Procar website. They still make em.

Sorry, I bought the seats 20 years ago and didn't buy them direct, so I don't know the specific model, but hopefully you can tell from the pictures. I'd imagine if you measure the seat tracks and e-mail ProCar they can tell you which seats they have that would fit directly on those tracks. I do recall that I paid $500 for the pair of seats though 20 years ago, for whatever that is worth. Seemed like a pretty good deal.

Looks like the Rally 1000 series in black vinyl. For what it's worth their pdf catalog has a picture of a spider.

In what catalog did you find it? I looked through all of the catalogs on their site and couldn't find a picture of a spider with procar seats.

Thanks,

i don't know what it is, but the giveaway that it's not a Fiat are the front window vents (or lack thereof).

The blue and white convertible is a older Camaro. Couldn't find a Fiat.

The Rally 1000's are regularly sold on eBay by Summit Racing.
$330.00 or so per seat and they bolt right in. Better comfort and support than the OEM and costs less than it would take to recover the old worn out seats.
