New Top Install Instructions

Post by Spidey23 »

I have a new top coming in the mail & been reading up on "how to" here in various strings. Anyone have a copy of good install instructions they would share? I'm a first timer for being a Fiat owner( 78 Spider ) & replacing a top! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just in case... this is what I will be using:

The top I got also came with a set of instructions, but I find that link to be a better guide...

The link wachuko posted is a good set of instructions. I used it myself. You can check out this link for some additional tips. http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8980

You might also send a email request to Mike Bouse (user: mbouse) who has some additional install instructions. If you do, you may not get a response from him until after the weekend and be sure to include your email address if you email him through the forum.

Between the link Wachuko posted and Mike's instructions, you should be good to go. Please document the process including pictures to help others. (I have to change mine as well  )

Thanks for the links & all the tips...now about posting my install w/ pics...may not be a good idea as I am no Wachuko or Mike when it comes to completing/posting tasks like a top install...usually have to do the task 2-3 times before I get it right... in fact around my house I am known as "Unhandy Andy" !!
