B&W VX Street Fighter - perfect
Hi -
some weeks ago I did search for a DS licence plate holder and got an offer by a chap who I know for several years. Josef is a master car mechanic living in south west GY - he is a nice chap, but ... he is special..... why that? Because he is building cars into the shape he wants them to be. And he knows a lot.
Well, one principle is: it must be a Fiat Spider.
The next one is: the engine to use is a VX engine. Why? Because it is the strongest engine.
Some years ago he did build a black/blue Abarth replica out of a BS - guess what - with a VX engine in it.
See:
His summer car is a "normal" VX - but changed to the "old style" - bumpers, front indicators and rear lights - otherwise as stock as possible:
Well, both of these are VERY nice cars, and I know many people who would pay a medium fortune to have theirs in a similar shape. But Josef is different, he wanted to have the perfect car as such....
As I came by there was the ultimate VX street fighter at his house, he just finished building it out of a '85 (because of the steering) that was rotting at a car dealer yard for some years
Rebuilt Abarth-Style body. Lightened wherever possible.
Original fiberglass bonnet bought in italy (for a fortune at the Padova fair).
Changed gas tank to abarth position.
Sparco racing seats with racing belts.
Pro instrument cluster.
Abarth two spoke steering wheel.
Rollbar.
Engine: blueprinted VX with enhanced and optimized chambers, head polished increased inlet and outlet channel to ensure perfect flow. Rods weighted and adjusted, matched with the pistons (special racing set by Wahl). VX-compressor load increased to 0.9 bar. Timing fine adjusted. Flywheel enlightened by 2.8 Kg.
Stainless steel header by G&B. Stainless steel exhaust (65mm wide) with racing (ss) catalyst (to keep ist street legal) and a smaaaaall muffler. Sound? Sound!
170 PS.
But look at the pictures - it's a stunning machine:
ciao,
Stefan

Too Cool One thing I like is the special place to rest your left foot. I made a raised place for my left foot, but the carpet covers it.
Re: B&W VX Street Fighter - perfect
If I didn't have a mortgage and 2 kids to put through college my spider would look like that! Man that's a sweet ride!
Re: B&W VX Street Fighter - perfect
Could you possibly read the tire size and brand name. It looks like it says 235/40/16 but when i search it it don't exist. and I cant quite see the brand name either. Thanks for your help.

Those are some sweet rides! I really like the smaller lower grill, it lines up with the side ones and brings the front togeather.

Nice looking homemade timing belt cover. There may be another spider with a similar cover soon, hint, hint.
Re: B&W VX Street Fighter - perfect
I would love to know where he got those rims? Looking to do a wide body kit on my spider this year from scratch, not the fiberglass fender flairs from Bayless but wide rims with a body kit like a porsche 944 has anyone seen anything like this?

Re: B&W VX Street Fighter - perfect
Nice web site,, Anyone know the make of the rims on this car is he using spacers? very nice car. I think if the wheel wells were blacked out it would make it look lower and may be more aggressive, if thats possible very nice car the builder has taste. Are those Bayless fender flairs?
