Hey 124 Spider Enthusiasts,
I'm in the process of upgrading/restoring my 76' and I've come across leather dashboard covers but I'd also like to get a matching leather console.

Unfortunately, the only covers I can find fit the 83'-85'.

With that said, it looks very similar to the ones on the 76' with the exception of the coin cup which I could potentially cut out and tuck under the wooden panel that attaches to the shift boot. Has anyone successfully done such a procedure? I'm new here but thanks in advance for any advice!

Re: 1976 Leather Center Console Upgrade
For the cost I would contact a local upholstery shop. Get a few references for a reputable one and see what they would cherge. The material and stitching should be consistent in pattern and color and the cost may be similar. Coming from different sources the shade, grain pattern and stitching could all be different. My 73 had a vinyl dash like the leather one but when I wanted to do the console I couldn't find a good color match. Bugged me until I sold the car.
