site problems

Post by dinghyguy »

Hi Matt,

I assume you have been following the comments about the site being down or inaccessible under "Discussions about the site"

As the sponsor have you been looking into this? have you got any updates?

We all would hate to see this site just vanish, and for peace of mind appreciate any update you can provide.

cheers

I'll add my voice of support to Dinghyguy's note above, as SQL errors or various site max limitations seem to be happening more and more frequently. For my recent posts, I now always copy what I just entered just in case the site crashes when I hit submit. I'd say this occurs about 50% of the time (for me at least). Most times I'll try and repost later when the site is back up, but sometimes I just let it go.

Thanks,
Bryan

I have tried posting in the last few days and most of the time I get this error and a crash:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql ]

User 'phpbb' has exceeded the 'max_questions' resource (current value: 75000) [1226]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

I think we're all experiencing this. I'm no expert, but it seems like the usage of the website (whether by real people or bots) is exceeding the limits of how this site is configured/maintained.
