Hi... I'm going to apologize in advance for what is most likely a dumb question. Not a mechanic... forgive me.
The wire that connects to the coolant t outlet... what is it and what does it do?
I was detailing the engine bay and it snapped in 3 places because it was so brittle. I asked a friend and they said.. "just fix it, who cares what it does". True... but I need to know.
AWESOME. Thank you. I figured coolant temp sensor but didn't understand the link to FI.
I'm learning as I go. I did some reading and now I get it.
thanks again.
Once the various sensors are proven to work as they should, and there are no air leaks, it works pretty well! But it can take a few bucks to get there... Suggest that you go through the various FI manuals and test all the sensors, fuel pressure, etc. Not overly difficult. Try to take as many of the readings as possible back at the ECU under the glove box, to eliminate cable problems effecting the readings.
Setting the TPS is a little tricky, the bottom line is, just make sure you hear it "click" just as you open the throttle plate manually (with engine off), and that it is actually switching on and off back at the ECU.
