It appears that after 20 years of hard driving, the 2nd gear synchro on my -78 1800 is gone.
Not really unexpected considering the harsh duty but a bummer still.
I have never done any trans work. I assume a complete rebuild is in order? Or just get a salvaged trans from somewhere?
Anyone know a good 124 trans repair place?
Other suggestions?

Since you have to pull the transmission anyway, rebuild is the first option. Hardest part is pulling the tranny.

Danny at Fun Imported in CT is a good rebuild choice.
