Re: TURBO KIT
Finally put the car on the road today. Actually leave it to 2 kids used to Megasquirt and tell them: ''Go tune it''. The two guys are the guy at the machine shop and the other one was the one who did the bushings for my GM forged connecting rods. And they both run on Megasquirt. When they came back 1H30 later they said that the rings are break in (The company said one night at the racetrak ). They also said that with 5PSI of boost i can see around 40Hp gain from the setup of last year with dome pistons. A little pinging around 6500RPM so more tuning in that area. The plan is to put a switch to get the boost to 10-12PSI for city driving and leave it at 5PSI for highway. They also detect a rattle from Under the Hood that was the starter that was loose The blow off valve seems to be a little small for the turbo so we will try a bigger one.
More to come with more boost

Re: TURBO KIT
After driving the car for couples hundreds miles, I can say that's the best improvement I made to this car. Forget about dome pistons. Use the stock one with GM forged connecting rod and add a turbo. I'll shoot a video to let you see but before that I have to change all 4 ball joint and adjust the wheel bearing. But trust me, it's very fun

Looking GREAT! Keep up the good work... What are you using for engine management? Also, if you can get some videos posted, I would love to hear this beast. Lastly what rods are you using? I know you mentioned they are GM but from what exactly? Thanks!

Re: TURBO KIT
I use megasquirt II V3.0. The connecting rod are from a 350 because the crank journal is the same. So you can use better connecting rod bearing. The length is a bit shorter but it will lower your compression to around 140 witch is good for the turbo setup. The piston pin bushing has to be remove and replace with a smaller diameter one to fit the Fiat piston pin. The thickness of the GM rod is smaller so you have to made bushing to place on each side of the piston pin. That way, the rod is place on one side of the crank and is driven by the piston and not by the crank.
The good news is that I have a extra set of connecting rod and pin bushing. the only thing that you will need is the bushing that you place on each side of the piston pin. Anyone interested???

Re: TURBO KIT
Today we adjust the boost to around 10-12PSI. I send the kids to adjust the upper parts of the tables because of the increase in the boost. They came back and said that the car have around 200-250HP. I can tell you that it's almost scary I can say that I have now more than enough power
Go Pro charged and ready to go. I only need the time and a quiet road because 90MPH is coming fast

Re: TURBO KIT
The headers I made from SS crack at more than one place so now I have almost nothing in boost. No problem because the summer is over here and Mark have now a cast iron headers made.

Re: TURBO KIT
Any updates on this project?
I’d thinking about building one for my car and would love to resurrect the conversation.
