Drilled / slotted rotors
Re: Drilled / slotted rotors
rebuilding the rears kinds sucked, I has one that refused to reassemble cooperatively. The piston did not want to get past the seal and engage the worm gear. Finally it did, and overall it would be easy a 2nd time. Everything is loose and familiar, but entire rear job was 4hrs. (new lines, center line too, and rotors + caliper rebuilds) Could maybe do it again in under 2. You know how that goes, once youve done it its easy. If everything cooperated I could redo it under an hour.
Re: Drilled / slotted rotors
Finished the front today. They do make a little noise when you brake, you can hear the slots, but its not bad or anything, just noticable. Its great to have 4 brakes instead of 1.5 wheels doing all the stopping. Half the hoses were clogged with black crap looked like ground up rubber. Now they work like new

Re: Drilled / slotted rotors
So i am getting ready to order the rebuild kits and also thinking about ordering other parts... you got stainless lines right? And you did end up eliminating the proportioning valve? my understanding is that the stainless lines = 4 total, and if you are eliminating the proportioning valve, you need a 5th line. Is that right? Did you go with new brake pad springs?
Again, I am getting ready to order, so
Rebuild kit, braided lines (4 or 5 depending on proportioning valve) and did you order other parts? My master cylinder has a little rust on it, but doesn't appear to be leaking.
How are the brakes now? If you jack the car up do the tires spin freely?

Re: Drilled / slotted rotors
the hose kit should be 5 hoses; 4 calipers and the rear center hose. bypass hose would be a 6th

I am trying to decide if it is even worth it to pay 3-4x extra for stainless braid lines on stock calipers...

to be honest, braided lines shouldnt be 4-5 x as much, if they are you are paying too much for braided hoses or way too little for oem ones. i have not checked what vendors get for their lines, but im sure they arent that much

Re: Drilled / slotted rotors
Looks like I'll be ordering a set from mark next month... along with another fiat yellow and red emblum for my trunk. Those things look Excellent in real life as opposed to the pictures.
Shame they don't offer caliper rebuild kits... IAP will be getting my money there.

Re: Drilled / slotted rotors
If you order from a vendor that also sells on eBay it is better for them if you order things direct, instead of going through eBay, as eBay charges extra fees.
