Been working on a deck to replace the back seat. wanted to keep it as low as possible. the issue was the battery cable. the choice was to leave it exposed, relocate it, or make a step to cover it. I chose to make a step using the keyboard cover from an 1890's english piano. the same wood i used for the dash and consoles. There is enough space under the cover to house a radio, CD, speakers or other such future electronics. Have a few more things to do to complete it, but basically ready for the top. The carpet is cut from a rubber backed throw rug from Lowe's. Cheap and easy to replace.

Great job!
I'm designing one for my EV conversion to hide batteries and add some functionality. Built in speakers, some kind of slide out that ends up between the buckets with cup holders =)
