piston #'s

Post by mgbgtn »

I'm trying to find out what type of pistons and if they are over size so as I can get new rings. The motor was rebuilt and then sat for 25 years with no head on the car and the rings have seized on the pistons. Guess I should give the #'s on the dome of the pistons. #TOP 0.04 VE
RA2661 0.60. THanks.

Those should be a Repco piston, made by Borgo, for a 1608. the 0.60 would be your overbore.
Apparently these were only available in stock compression height and ratio.
I would suggest you stick a bore gauge in there and confirm.
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

The pistons are REPCO and the motor is a 1592 cc.
