32 ADFA Float question

Guys,
I opened up my new (used) 32ADFA to clean it up and I need to remove the float to change the gasket. Do I just knock out the pin in the bracket at the top? I need to put the original float back in since the new float in my rebuild kit was too big.

the pin should just push out
