131 headers into a 124 spider
131 headers into a 124 spider
How are you guys doing? I was wondering if anybody knows if a exhaust header for a 131 will fit in the smaller engine compatment of the 124 spider! Thanks

the crossmembers are in very different locations, so I doubt the collector would be anywhere close to the right spot

Re: 131 headers into a 124 spider
I have a 131 header on my Spider because I converted to a steering rack, and the stock Spider exhaust wanted to be where the rack was. The 131 exhaust goes back at a 45 degree angle, instead of going straight down, then turning 90 degrees back, as on a Spider.
On a stock Spider the steering idler would be in the way of the 131 header. Also the 131 engine compartment is wider, so on my car the header flange comes within a few mm of the box section and the flange has to be turned a certain way, otherwise it rubs.
