Yeah, just did that. Some, but not a lot of difference ... thought there'd be more.dantye wrote:Has anyone replaced their resonator with a glass pak? Results?

Re: Delete center resonator
Update: The glasspack resonator replacement has been on for about a month now and it's sounding better ... just a bit louder on acceleration and little deep rumble on deceleration. No real difference at idle. Maybe it took a while for the thing to clear it's throat. Definitely not as loud as the vendors' muffler videos on you-tube, but I'm more pleased than I was after installation. Went thru my headers-straight-through muffler phase with my '70 'Cuda and after an 8-hour Thanksgiving trip with those pipes droning .... don't want anything that loud on the Spider.
I'll try to get something recorded, but I'm not sure whether it's enough of a difference to come through. Very subtle.

Re: Delete center resonator
glasspacks do get louder with time, the packing gradually burns out.

Sounds good to me. Is this just a glass pack and no resenator?

No, the stock resonator was cut out from between the California cat and the stock muffler and the glass pack welded in-line. All the pipes are stock diameter.dmwhiteoak wrote: Sounds good to me. Is this just a glass pack and no resenator?
And the recording sounds a lot different (better ) than what I hear driving!

This is exactly the sound what I was looking for. I got my glass pack to and ready to install and a flowmaster 60 series as muffler

Yes, I used the 2" glass pack as center resonator and the flow master in the back.
