everyone knows circle track (short track) racing is harder on brakes than every other form of racing. in a 16 second lap on a 3/8 mile track, you are using the brakes for 4-7 seconds. we recorded brake temps on the fiat of 1600 deg, with thermal paint. i never had brake fade, the rotors glowed cherry red. the car would stop on a dime and give you .09 change. the only modification we did was to add ducting to the front brakes and changed pads to ferodo ds11 pads... too bad those are not available anymore. with modern pad technology, im sure ebc makes (yellowstuff) pads, which i have yet to try. seem to be the answer.
