VAS exhaust sound??

Mine needs replaced and the local ripoff artists quoted me almost 500 bucks! Mine has flex hose from the cat to the OEM rear muffler. (rattle,rattle,rattle) Does the Vas system start at the connection before the cat or after? I'm tempted to get the front VAS piece and put a Thrush turbo on it, then over the axle to a dual tip resinator. Minus the cat! (track testing only) Is there utube vids out there with the sound of these(Alision,Vas,etc.) exhausts on it.?
81FI with 4,2,1 stock manifold. I cringe in fear it'll sound like those &%^#$#@ Hondas!(fat dude farting in a trash can)

That is straight off VAS website for the center section, so I would say yeah it gets rid of the cat, bolting right onto the downpipe. The videos on the VAS website show have some of the sound of there exhaust as per what is said in the videos, but it's not that perfect a video either.

Allison has videos of his exhaust on his website as well.

So in short I think the vendors had already answered your questions, but feed back from people who have both kit would be helpful. Mind you its only helpful if people talked about both otherwise its not really a comparison is it....

No I don't have either kit, but thought I would help with the other questions.

If you want it to be really loud on highways, leave out the resonator. If you want to hear your self think on highway runs, I'd put on the resonator. It's what gives a deeper sound anyways.

I have the VAS exhaust headers and 2.25 Exhaust straight back to the muffler. I'm installing a free flow resonator. She sounds great but on a long drive it can and will wear on you. The neigbors know i'mm coming a couple blocks away. Don't have a better quality sound recording to post than the one on Vicks website. however, after the resonator is installed I'll make a video.

Kind'a figgured it tied in at the down pipe. Vas poor vid and sound leaves alot to be desired. It's not that hard to make a decent vid nowadays. Too all the vendors- Get with the 21st century! Alot of shopping is done online and what we see represents you! Get your 14yo son or daughter to make some decent vids of your products in action.

Why don't you just call the vendors and ask them to make better videos? They might actually listen, you'll never know 'til you try. I've spoken with most of the vendors that sell the parts and they all seem pretty responsive to good feedback.
