My built 1800 has Venolia forged pistons, the last time I priced a set they were about $500 and were built to order
I don't think rings were included.

i do not remember the clearances but i do remember when we played with cam timing we could make the valves hit the pistons within a few degrees of the factory settings, with the high lift cams we were using. one thing this makes me want to do is to dust off the old parts and engines i have in the garrage and rebuild a few of those engines. heck i might put one in my spider.

This is the part that concerns me when milling a head or block to raise the CR then your playing with a lot lessi do not remember the clearances but i do remember when we played with cam timing we could make the valves hit the pistons within a few degrees of the factory settings,
room for the valve to piston spacing and asking for trouble when using larger cams . I feel stock or mild cams
aren't going to be a problem .
