custom old school bumper brackets?

i have been looking to convert to old style bumpers got a cheap set from ebay but the convertions brackets are still expensive !! has anyone fabricated there own ?

I fabricated my own brackets on my '73 because I relocated these blade bumpers closer to the body like the '60s cars. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I used hardware store corner brackets as a starting point :oops: Beat 'em bent 'em, cut and drilled them until I got what I wanted. Almost none of the bracket shows after installation anyway, and I painted them flat black. It's not a safety issue, as these bumpers would not protect the car from a squirrel; they're strictly for appearance.

I like that . I can't see paying all that money for a small metal bracket that u made the same thing from the hard wear store !
