COLOR CODE WIRES

Post by fiat218 »

when working with the wiring ( being it has not been changed?) the wires should match in color?
what i mean is when u have to plugs, plugging together!! should the wires match ( color ) from the male and female plug
red to red , white/black to white/black,. or not

In most cases yes, but in some cases no. Your best bet is to get a good wiring schematic (the type that actually represents each and every wire and it's color...not the simplified type). What specifically are u trying to track down?

the instrument lite, they work and all. but i have the fuel gauge and the rpm. gauge, they do not come on when the lites do, the way it is set up is that they come on when the key is on , not the lite, when i do change it as to corrdinate with the switch, then the fuel gauage it self it shorted out and shows full lol when it is all color coded then it shows the rite way and no lites
