Battery Replacement

Post by Dahlstan »

Hey guys,
It’s that time of year for me to remove that car cover and get my spider back on the road for its third summer of ownership! However, when I went to jump the car with my jump box. The car started turning over very, very slowly. I assume that this is due to the battery voltage reading four when not connected to the jump box. I am now looking to replace the battery however it seems like the previous owner connected. They die hard 24–2 battery to the car. I cannot find this anywhere. The closest I can find is 24–2 with the same cold crank number But a slightly smaller Reserve. Would this battery be OK to put in the car? It is a die hard 24F – two or is there a different battery that y’all recommend? Thank you.

I think your battery in in your trunk.
I think the 24-2 and the 24F battery have the battery terminals on the opposite sides. The correct battery has the negative battery terminal on the right side with the terminals facing the rear of the car. The terminals should be close to the hold down bracket that mates with the top edge of the battery. The batteries negative post should be on the same side as the negative cable again with the terminals closest to the rear bumper.

I have seen many Spiders with the wrong battery in the car and the terminals are then facing toward the back seat. This makes the cable terminals difficult to work with.
