biting the bullet…transmission overhaul

Hello everyone…and yes! Unfortunately, my transmission is gonna need an overhaul. 1st grinds and 3rd pops. In addition, without even moving the car, just with engine on, clanking noises from the transmission; which go away once the clutch is depressed, so I suspect also new clutch is needed. So, what am I to expect once I open the “pandora” box.
