Trunk area

I am restoring a 1984 Pinanfarina. The trunk has been completely gutted. Does anyone have pictures of what it should have in in to cover the fuel tank, hoses, spare tire etc. Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

This is the the lid that covers the spare wheel. It is for the 67 to 82 model years but might work for your 84.

I made new panels for my trunk out of MDF (medium density fiberboard), and I recall it was 1/8" or 3/16" thick. But, I also had the old (damaged) panels as a template. If you can find a template, or make a pattern out of posterboard that you trim until it looks right and use that to cut your MDF, that would also be an option.

There's a picture of an '83 trunk area at the link below. The liner was made of stiff unwoven felt with gray cardboard backing sewn to the underside. No hardboard floor underneath unlike the Spider 2000 ('79-82) The floor area also incorporated a flap that covered the inner fender where the battery sits. Look closely to the left of the battery and you will see a shiny twist latch on the trunk framing. there is a matching shiny latch hole that can just barely be seen in the corner of the felt. I believe that one latch and the cardboard stiffening panels were all that kept the folded back area of carpet in place. It was a was cheap, flimsy and semi-disposable affair which is why used ones are so difficult to find. You can do better. https://www.flickr.com/photos/rridge/49750640701/
