A car show June 14

Post by rlux4 »

I'm getting info from the people involved with the "Freinds of Steve McQueen Car Show" June 14. There is an article about it in this month's Westways AAA magazine. Car clubs are invited to attend and I'm wondering if anyone else is interested in going to it as a group. It is in Chino Hills. Several cars and motorcycles owned by Steve McQueen will be displayed in addiion to those of various car clubs.
Right now I'm looking for how many would be interested (it's time the chapter had a get together anyway), so that I can let the organizers know.
Thanks,
Ron

I'm in, but is it on the 4th or the 14th? The email you sent to the group said the 4th.

Oops. It is the 14th. I'll follow up with a correction to the emails.
Pope: No wonder you thought GF was Grandfather! You're so young you don't even know Steve McQueen? Too young to be a dirty old man.

The organizer of the car show (his name is Ron, so he must be a great guy) is wanting to know how many cars we would want to have room for. So far, only 3 have committed. I can't believe that more people aren't coming, so let me know ASAP if you're joining in. The fee is $20 for a car and driver, $10 for a passenger. We can go as spectators if more cars don't get involved. $10 fee. The money is used for the Boy's Republic, a non profit school and treatment facility for troubled youth, and the show is at their campus. Steve McQueen was a resident of the school in his youth and a strong supporter later in his life.
Let me know soon if there are any more interested in this get together.
Thanks
Ron
