Local Family Night Event

Post by btoran »

Every Tuesday in August is "Family Night" in our town. From 6pm to 10pm Main Street is closed for a street party with food vendors, bouncy houses for the kids, a DJ, and classic cars line the street. The pictures below are from the last Family Night this Summer, and the first that I entered my car in. Lots of people stopped by to find out about my car and I received plenty of complements. Most had previous experiences with Spiders. Some, especially the younger ones, were surprised Fiat made such cool cars and they did it 40 years ago.

Family Night getting started.

A nice hot rod.

Excalibur. Sword of Kings.

An old Ford next to a VW van.

A nicely restored Caddy. I think my car could fit under the hood.

A big Oldie.

All original (according to the owner) '68 Mustang.

I thought our cars were small. This think runs on a 9 hp Kohler engine.

An award-winning Chevy. Note the food tray on the window, and the statue of a dog marking his territory on the back wheel.

An all original (according to the owner) 1924 Ford. It has knob-and-tube wiring to the spark plugs and a small Ford oil can sitting on a shelf in the engine compartment.

Our "Piccolo Ferrari" sitting pretty between a '68 Vette and a '68 Buick Skylark.

Two of my kids (and their friends) playing "cool" in our car.

My wife, kids, their friends, and half the town dancing on Main Street.

Small towns like that are great places to grow up. Thanks for sharing.

Don't miss the winters though.
