Even MORE ignition switch issues!

Post by gionetz »

Okay, I am having an issue that "may" be my ignition switch in my 75' Spider - The 75' ignition switch has a slightly different color/fuel pump scheme and I can't seem to find a good diagram. In the long run, I will be putting some relays in switch the brown to blues, black to pink and brown to red for the starter. My switch has a green/black and gray wire coming out of the switch, the green/red "should" go to the fuel pump and it was cut from PO and tied onto a blue that livens up when on "run". It's the gray wire I don't understand, when I add voltage to it, a light bulb "hanging" under the dash lights..."seems" like a possible buzzer goes off and the tach goes up to like 4,000 (with car off) - Can anyone offer help on what this gray wire is "supposed" to be for? Thank you AGAIN!!!!!...OH and, the terminal on the switch that the green/black and gray plug into do NOT liven up when on "run", which may be why the PO "hotwired" the fuel pump elsewhere...but that GRAY WIRE!!! lol
