I've just rebuilt an engine and in the installation I've found there are two electrical components on the bottom of the intake manifold I've not tagged as to which is which and find nothing to help in the manuals. One set has a brown and a black wire and the other has 2 blue with red stripes. Any info would be helpful

Do you have dual points? I had the same on my 78 manifold, but between electronic ignition and a new carb, they have been disconnected for many years.

They are for emissions (one of the switches between the 2 sets of points depending on engine temp), you don't need them.
