Red and white wires under dash

Found a white female connector with two white wires with red stripes coming out of it. I don't know what this is and I don't see a connector close by that this should be hooked to. Any ideas? I am about to pour over Brad's wiring diagrams to find it but thought I'd ask first.

I think the most common White/red wires are the dash lights. Do you dash lights work??? You didn't mention how many how many cavities the connector had so I assume it is a single cavity connector. There is a single white connector that connects to the dash dimmer in the center of the dash. It is the output of the dimmer control to the lights.

All my dash lights work and the dimmer does as well. The connector is a single spade type.

Hmmmm how about the internal light in the hazard flasher ???

Yep, the only lights I've never seen on are the oil pressure light and the O2 sensor light. This connector is lying unconnected beneath the tach. The lights on the back of the tach are all connected.

Did some digging through Brad's excellent wiring diagrams and found the wire on page 3. Apparently it is for the fiber optic wiring for the center console. Those do not work in my car so maybe they were disconnected by the PO.
