optical fiber light?

Post by wbsterritt »

The '83 Pinnin Spider has been in hibernation for the winter and is now almost ready to arise again for the new year! I've been doing some pre-check items on her lately and during the process I came across the term "optical fiber light." Just what exactly is this "optical fiber light" and where is it located? What is it's purpose? Happy new 'Spider' year to all!

The optical fiber light is just that, "fiber optics" in our old spiders. Under the dash there is a light that shines on/in a fiber optic cable that runs under the center console to light up the heat, defraust levers next to your emmergency brake lever. Pretty neat stuff for the 80's.
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!
