Dash/console caps?

I'm just about to order these to cover the existing dash and center console on my '78 124 Spider. Both of which are cracked, faded and just not in very good looking shape, albeit still perfectly structurally sound. Hence wanting to save the money and time of actually replacing them. Have any of you guys used one/other/both? Anything I need to know when applying them? My only concern would be the the little end caps on the dash. Do they pop off?

The end caps do pop off. I have some if you break yours. Try Allison's automotive for the center console. I believe he sells one made of fiberglass that looks good instead of covering yours. It might be about the same price.

If just the top of the dash is cracked, replacing just the top cap is much easier. The whole cover requires resizing all the wood. There are lots of posts if you search for "dash cap". My upper radio console cap fits lousy, the chrome trim would not fit. I'd definitely buy Mark's If I do it over.

Thanks for that link. My dash is ONLY cracked by the vent openings. I can smooth those down and fit a top cap. You probably just saved me not only money but a ton of frustration as I don't have the patients to do what the entire cover would require. :D
