Fuel pump sounds noisey...should it be replaced?

I just recently heard the fuel pump on my 80 FI spider getting noisey. A humming or buzzing sound. Never heard it before. Car running great. Is a noisey pump a sign its on it's way out? I do have a brand new one (bosch). How do you replace it?

Unbolt the body /sheilds, pull off the wire connectors, unclip the in and out hose. Installation is reversal of last. Probably best if tank is near empty first and might as well do the filter while you are under there.
