Whats this above the clutch pedal?

Post by KalamazooJohnny »

1977 spider. Behind the fuse box. A round silver socket looking thing, like a minature cigarette lighter socket. What is it?

Yep, an inspection lamp socket. Few have actually seen an inspection lamp that plugs into this socket in person.

I know someone who bought a Lada 1500 (Vaz) new back in 78 and it had the same socket ( being a 124 copy) and it actually had a trouble / inspection lamp to suit in the toolkit. Probably not deemed necessary for a Fiat owner ?
