Brake light fuse failing

Glad we could help you figure it out, Chad with the Orange Spider! Let us know how it turns out with the new diode. Meanwhile, I am still puzzling over the reason for that diode in the first place, but I think Spider2081 is correct in that it has something to do with keeping the gauge needle (and warning light) stable as the fuel sloshes around.

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the advice. Got the replacement diodes in today and after some quick soldering and testing, the short has been resolved. All gauges and lights are functioning again. Now onto the next problem to solve.
