Don,
Doing a radio gig and missed your call. Will give you a jingle in the morning. A bit late now to call.
If putting your hand over the carb makes it worse, idle jet NOT plugged, no need to mess with it.
If you look down carb venturi is it spitting fuel??

I cleaned both the idle solinoid & the low idle jets last night.
Went to clean the plugs this morn & they looked pretty bad & gapped out to .040+
Replaced them w/ new & now she runs right again.
Had to lower the idle so something must have opened up at least a little & have full throttle response, don't have to feather it.

I do have a miss at idle that starts slowly but increases frequency the longer it idles so once it cools down again I'll go thru the points again & check the timing.
