Vehicle Speed Sensor

Post by dsnyder »

Hello Everyone-

I am attempting to install cruise control in my 1978 Spider. The kit I bought (used) was missing the magnetic pickup for the cruise control. So, I was wondering if the 1978 or my 1982 parts car might have a vehicle speed sensor somewhere that I could adapt an modify? Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks!!!

If you need some parts, I have tons of old aftermarket cruise control pieces.

How about a complete set that will work in my 1994 Chevy Suburban Turbo Diesel?

Also, if my 1982 does not have a VSS I can adapt, I guess a VSS unit.

Thanks!

Fiat didn't use a vss, usually the kits have a magnet to glue to the driveshaft and a pickup unit to read it

No complete set, although I have more than enough parts to make a complete unit, it is basicly just boxes of old parts. If you need magnets and the pick-up unit, I have those. Did your kit come with instructions?? Some units tied into the coil to read RPM.

Hi Keith,

My kit does not have the coil input. So I do need the magnets and the pickup. How much would you want?

I'll PM you my contact info-
