Very nice. This is what I am working on now.
I was lucky enough to rip a template off the bottom of the original carpeting and trace on to the new one. Although I made PF PR once peace, same with DF DR.

Great work man. I used the old carpet as a template. Amazing work. And if you can sew that binding. Cheers

I just did my carpet a week or so ago using this process, and using these drawings as the fist step on my templates. Worked perfectly.

However, next time, I will not do separate fronts and rears like they came from the factory. I'll leave them all one piece. As is, the fronts tend to slide forward when I get in and out. It is hard to keep them stuck down.

Glad they helped. I agree, the next time I replace it I'm going to try to do a complete one piece.

Rick, thanks for the drawings. I'm looking at an automotive carpet sold in bulk that is 60" wide. Do you think I can fit your puzzle pieces on a piece 60" x 108" ? I can order incrementally longer in the 108" dimension, if necessary.

I did mine on a 6' x 8' piece of carpet (72" x 96"). Based on my experience and the size of the scraps I had left after cutting, the pieces will fit on a 60" x 108" piece.

Foster, I have taken the pics of your patterns & converted them into full size line drawings (I'm the graphics guy at a sign company) then tweeked them to adjust for the angle/perspective of the pics.

I will be using them to pattern carpet for my car, make any adjustments to the patterns & then I will make the files available to anyone that wants them.
I have made them in a generic vector format that can be plotted out full size by most any sign shop with a plotter or maybe even Kinko's & the likes can print them.

I'll post up again when I get mine patterned up & see how they work.

Foster, Thanks for posting up the pics of your patterns, I would have had nothing to pattern to as mine has household carpet that some PO has put in & needs replaced/done right.

I would greatly appreciate the CAD files. What formats do you have? DXF, DWG, SU or ?

Many thanks

I have the files saved full size as .eps format which is usable with most sign programs & others, Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator....

I am planning on test fitting them first to make sure they're OK, taking them off the pictures I had to modify them to the dimensions listed & compensate for the perspective in those pics, but do believe they should be really close to the pics.

If you want them as is I can send them to ya, Email me ... don dot raugust at yahoo dot com
You should test fit them first before cutting any carpet.

any tips on actually laying the carpet? I'm about to do my first carpet replacement next weekend. seems pretty straightforward. will be putting down a coat of POR-15 first. then will do an underbed of Dynamat. then just spray adhesive in the new carpet? Super 77 work ok for everything? then just push it down and make sure it's flat and glued, ya?

anything else to it?

related - anyone have any tips for bending their seats straight? mine have always looked a little bent, thought I might bend around on them a little while I have them out and try to correct them.

Anyone have pictures of how the floor wires looked before they put their carpet down? Mine was all over the place... as usual and I have no idea how it went together originally. Laying out some of my carpet today just to see how it fits.

Heres a pic of what I did on mine (also sent you a PM but thought other might like to see)
Mine run along the top edge of the side rails under folding clips under the carpet, I used the padding under the carpet to help make up for the bulk (above & below the wires but not over top of them).

Then the carpet went over quite neatly.

Hope this helps
