Can anyone identify this?

Post by cbmeadors »

I'm trying to figure out what this is. It doesn't show up in my wiring diagram and most of the wires are no longer attached. It is attached forward of the voltage regulator on its own bracket. My best guess so far is that it is a horn relay (horn doesn't work btw). Any thoughts?

looks like someone added a relay. headlights maybe?
where do the wires go too?
Did you put a light bulb tester on it and honk your horn or turn on your headlights?

That looks to me like an old Chysler starter relay somebody hung on there for who-knows-what reason

The only wire that goes anywhere is the ground. All of the other wires aren't connected. I'm afraid to test it in case it was some sort of aftermarket self destruct system ;) I think I'm inclined to remove it entirely as I think most airhorn kits come with a new relay anyway. I'll probably be adding my own headlight relays anyway, so I don't thing there is much downside to removing it.
