Number 8 fuse keeps blowing

Post by austspider »

My number 8 fuse keeps blowing. The radio and I think the regulator are associated with this fuse. As I am not that good on the electrics I would appreciate some help on what to look for to establish the cause.

Also, I wanted to remove the over-riders from my front & rear chrome bumpers (1974 mod) and wanted to know if this was possible and can you get something to cover the holes on the bumpers.

Thanks for your help.

I checked two 74 Spider wiring diagrams and they both suggest that there should only be a yellow/red wire associated with this fuse no. 8. This wire should connect to the rear left lights. Nothing exciting, unless someone connected something else to this fuse. I would recommend that you check all the wires associated with your rear left lights and any other wires added to the fuse and make sure connections are tight - especially the grounds.
If you remove the over-riders you will be left with one hole per over-rider in the bumper and quite likely scuff marks from the rubbing.
Let us know what you find. Good Luck, JimmyG
