After market wiring thru the firwall

Hi Doug from Maine here. I've got a 1970 spider. How difficult is it to drill thru the fire wall to install wiring for an after market water temperture gauge. While I'm at it I think I'll run the radio wiring thru this same hole for direct fuse to battery hook up. Any thoughts on this? Many Thanks Doug in Maine

Hi Doug,
The firewall is thin. Just be careful not to drill into anything on the other side. You could get a rubber gromit from your hardware to put into the hole so you don't fray your wires.

I did the same thing but found a hole with wires where I was able to use.

The main bundle, which exits near the brake booster, usually has enough room to handle another 18 ga. wire. See if you can gently feed a thin coat hanger (with a blunt tip) thru along side the bundle. Tape your gauge wire to the end on the inside, and fish it back to the engine compartment.
