Roll Bar

Post by danny910 »

Would like to install a roll bar in my 82 spider. Don't know if it would be better to build one or try to buy one. :?: :?

I want one.
I know they serve many practical purposes ie,
frame flex,rollover protection (right?)...and that's fine.
What I like is the way they looked installed with the top
down....fugging awesome...bad a$$....

What is the install like...does the back seat get cut at all?

Great place to mount speakers and a wind screen lol...

back seat has to be cut on each side, panels on side have to be cut where it lays on top of wheel well. also if you are taller, you lose a click or two going back in the seat. I had some friends who race at the track, liked the way it looked in the car, but laughed at the protection it provided. It's bolted in of course not welded. I'm sure guys who do autocross with their cars have a "real" rollbar. Still--liked the look of it.

What is web adress for either one ? I'm fairly new to having a spider and don't know all the parts suppliers yet.

Each rollbar seem very similiar...though the one at AP
looks like it has a curve near the top which would be nice
if it reduces the mass...hard to tell w/o better pics.

My seat is all the way back NOW, soooo not sure if I can
squeeze an RB in....crap!

Please do. An Abarth replica would be awesome!

what's the Abarth bar like? any pics? I just put a bar in my car today, it's a used one I got from cecat (george). I modified it for the look and fit that I want.

The abarth one has two 45 degree angles rather than one 90 degree turn at the corners.

I spoke to someone today who said he had one. I'm trying to buy it from him but he's not wanting to let it go. If he decides to sell it to me and it's the real deal, I'll let you borrow it to make copies of it.

if he won't sell it, will he lend it to you for copies?
