All right! Back to work allready! I finally got it into the garage, so I can get serious. I got one side of the suspension stripped off tonight.

It was a long day of cleaning, wire wheeling and bead blasting, but I made some progress today. I thought my crossmember was cherry, untill I stripped it. I found two small cracks on the drivers front. I guess I'd better strip the frame rails down for a closer inspection. :( Has anyone noticed if there is a difference between US & Euro control arms? Mine have U.S.A. marked all over them.

Way to go, Trey! Those control arms look just like what's on my 72.

That front end suspension almost brings a tear to my eye. Just did that to mine a couple of months ago and sitting in the garage waiting for the car to get done. Great job. Is that the barn find?
Dont know about the stampings though.

So, has anybody else got stuff like this for their b-day? I also got some gift cards and a TomTom, So once I buy car stuff with the cards it will all be car related! Image
I spent this weekend reinforcing the crossmember, I think I'm almost ready to put the suspension then the engine back in! My roll bar showed up Fri and I ordered some seats today.

Cool birthday stuff Trey. Did you do the X-member repair yourself? You've made me a little afraid to get mine really clean.
Nice progress buddy.

Ya, that's what I did while everyone else was watching the Superbowl. I filled in the square holes and added some extra bracing. The crack was in the frt near the bolt. That part sticks out and has little support. The red is where the cracks were. I added a plate to this area on both sides, frt and back.

At least that would make it easier to see the cracks! Maybe I'll wrinkle paint it, then I'll never see them!

So, I got the frt suspenson back togeather yesterday, yes my wife is understanding! I also got my new seats, rollbar and belts. I was going to go with the plastic race seats & covers & kind of wish I did. These will be a tight fit, but comfy.

I haven't seen a set of aftermarket seats as cool as these before!

Nice job!

I've seen some that looked great in other cars, and looked great on their own... but most simply look silly in the Fiat.

Yours do not. Well done fella!

do they sell them in leather?
