1985.5 rack and pinion install

Hi,
I am in the process of installing a new rack and pinion steering on my 1985.5 - has anyone had any experience of removing the existing rack, I have a Pininfarina Manual but it does not contain any information about the R&P steering installed on these later cars.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated - there doesn’t look like there is much room to remove the bolts that secure the saddle brackets to the crossmember!
