Dust cover on brake caliper

Hi All, Those of you who have overhauled your brake calipers, Does the dust cover go on in some particular way? I have a couple of worn out or torn dust covers. Do they go in a recess or groove of any kind? My Brooklands manual just shows a already installed cover. Thanks in advance.

Ok, To answer my own question I pulled out the torn dust cover and could see the groove in the cylinder bore. I can run the piston back in all the way and clean the groove out and replace the dust seal.
