Best place to install choke cable on 1977 Spider

Post by Odoyle »

I am installing a Weber 34 DMS onto my 1977 Fiat 124 Spider. Replacing the 32 ADFA as the car has been sold to a buyer in Florida and he is paying me too replace carb. Seems all my firewall realestate is accounted for, any suggestions as to where I should drill and install cable. Also the choke cable will be installed on the LH side of the steering wheel where the original throttle pull cable existed.

I think your question has been answered on Mirafiori, but on both my '69 and '71 spiders, the choke knob is mounted on a tab on the LH underside of the steering column support. The cable then goes pretty much straight forward to the firewall where it exits right under the brake fluid reservoir. Somewhere above the master cylinder, the cable makes a 90 degree bend towards the carburetor.
