To 95amp Alternator or not…thoughts

Been reading about it…and not 100% convinced. Current one has no issues.

Really, if working well, I wouldn't mess with the alternator. Mine went bad on my '79, replaced with a 65 A and added relays for the lights and the starter. All works great. not sure I would ever run enough to need 95 A. You will get a lot of opinions on this

Unless you have added a lot of electrical load you don't need a bigger alternator.

My Italian grandfather often said "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." So, unless you have issues, I would not buy new parts to replace functioning parts. If lights dim and a few other electrical gremlins do things like clean grounds, clean connections, clean and lube wiper assembly..... and the list goes on. I was having intermittent charging issues back in 2012 and installed the 95 amp alternator. I have also installed a headlight relay and ignition switch relay a few years later. I can tell you the 95 amp alternator was a good replacement for me. But, this was only done for the longevity of the car as I can confidently say I have touched every circuit on the car. I agree with some of the comments. The electrical system needs to be well sorted before increasing the pressure (amps) in a system with too much resistance (Ohms). Old poorly insulated wires can get hot leading to all kinds of new problems. it all starts with clean grounds and connections.
