A transmission story for Canada

Post by kilrwail »

A transmission story. A few months ago my third gear synchros started to show excessive wear, to the point that I had to double clutch and match rev’s to avoid grinding the gear. Clearly a rebuild was in order, but the Canada-US border is still closed so I couldn’t take it to Jon Logan in Ohio. So I took the advice of local friends in my small town of Perth, ON and approached a local guy with a great reputation as a transmission specialist. He turns out to be a great guy with a straightforward, no nonsense approach, who has rebuilt transmissions in everything you can think of, over many years, although never a Fiat. With Jon’s help I put together a parts list for AutoRicambi to send and the work was done in a week. Jon volunteered to be available for telephone consultation , for which I thank him, but that wasn’t required. The outcome is fantastic and the price very reasonable – the car shifts better than ever. I highly recommend Milton at Advance Automotive in Perth to anyone in Eastern Ontario.
