Trailing Arm - Long

Post by RDSPYDR »

Most of the cars that I have work don't have a trailing arm on the rear end. What is it's purpose ? The reason that I am asking is that while under the car this morning it seems the one on the passenger side is slight bent and if I had to hazard a guess I would say that it looks like someone had it towed and the tow truck driver didn't know any better.

Can I put off replacement till Christmas ?

I would really like to drive her until it gets to cold not to. ( I've had her for six weeks and haven't had a chance yet - rebuild fuel and ignition system, and just finishing up rebuilding the brake system )

Thanks
So Cal Mark

having a bent trailing arm will cause the rear axle to sit slightly crooked in the car. As for driving like that, I see cars like that crusing around. I'd recommend you replace it asap
