Venosta Quebec Annual antique car and truck show 1 spider

So I'm up at the cottage on the weekend and my buddy/contractor takes me for a drive to Venosta to show me a cottage/house he is building. On the way back we noticed some old cars in a field and a sign saying there was a car/truck show there that day. We saw quite a few old cars making there way up there on the highway, so when I got back to the cottage, I gave the Spider a quick shine, loaded some refreshments (beers) in the cooler and drove the hour back to Venosta. As I approached the entrance, I asked in my best french "Ou est la section des Ferraris?" (where is the Ferrari section), to which I got a strange look, so I tried "la section Italienne?" ...same look
Then the guy leans into my car and says "I don't speak french!" Almost pissed myself.
You got to love these parts of Quebec!
So the place was full of old chrome, which would have dwarfed my spider, but off to the side there it was, the one car that would make mine look great...


Things were going great until...



Chatted with this gentleman about his British roaster while he polished every inch of it. He was bragging that he put over 350 miles on it last year. I told him that I put 3,800 miles on my car last year. He then asked me if I had a car there, to which I pointed to my Spider which was next to his. He says with a glance "oh a Fiat" and continued shine his car"
One in every crowd!
All in all I had a good time, great cars, great people and lotsa chrome.

Interesting to find that many antique cars in such a remote area. Never heard of Venosta Quebec, had to google map that one. Thanks for posting.

Yep I had no idea what to expect in that small rural town. Seems this was their 6th annual car show. Next year I'll see if we can get some friends to join in and get more Italian metal up there. (Jay, Phaetn, Domenic,...)

Kool Jay, we can make a weekend of it and stay at my cottage.

1st 100 vehicles got dash plaques...only about 90 showed up
Does anybody really stick these plaques on their dashes? Mine is now on my buddies old 4x4 chevy halfton. He figures it will make a great conversation piece.

They also had a 50/50 draw, which I didn't stay for. Before I left, I gave my tickets to the organizer of the show, and asked that, if I win, he to donate my 50% to the local charity that gets the other 50%. He was blown away
He asked me who I was, where I was from and what I was driving. I pointed to my spider and told him I would try to get more of us up there next year.
