Italian Car Parade - Saturday June 14

Public viewing => free !!!!
(gather on Preston Street between Somerset and Adeline for parade departure at 1:30pm)

Participants => Italian car owners free
(meet at Scotiabank on Preston Street with your Italian car starting at 10am to register for the parade)
Registration for the parade is mandatory and the first 100 parade registrants will receive a complimentary ICCO polo shirt, one shirt per car

See everything from vintage Fiat 500s to latest Fiat and Ferrari models

Friday Saturday June 13 - 14
Part of Italian Week / Settimana Italiana in Ottawa (http://www.prestonstreet.com)

Friday Night June 13:
- Welcome Celebration with refreshments and food trays at ICCO tent at Scotia Bank parking lot 8:30 p.m.
(Open to all ICCO members who will be participating in the parade and out-of-town Italian car clubs who arrive Friday night)

Saturday Parade Day June 14:
- Parade Registration at Scotia Bank parking lot: 10:00 a.m. (Registration for the parade is mandatory and the first 100 parade registrants will receive a complimentary ICCO polo shirt, one shirt per car)
- Retro Show (Scotia Bank parking lot): 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Parade Departure: 1:30 p.m.
- Ferrari Festival Events
NOTE: many of the pubs and eateries will be featuring world cup events during the weekend on their wide-screen monitors, including the Italy-England match-up on Saturday evening

Sunday June 15:
- Preston street Bicycle Race. Come and watch the races from 11:00am to 5:00pm from the ICCO tent at Scotia Bank parking lot. Note that Preston Street will be completely closed on Sunday for the races so find parking in the neighborhood and walk over to the club tent.

Definitely a fun day and happily the rain held off.

That red Dino Coupe ahead of me made the most delicious "pop, pop, pop" sound from its exhaust when backing off at times (see Spiderdan's pic, above).

Maybe a few too many new Fiat 500s for my liking -- I like the car, but there certainly was a horde of them!! -- but the Ferraris new and older were nice to see for sure, plus the older Alfas and Fiats.

Good times! My two girls were happy to be in a parade, and I was happy to be able to get them interested in car stuff without their getting bored. Will post a few more pics that Dan graciously took once I get home tonight.
